My Head’s In The Clouds Over You!

6 / 24 / 226 / 24 / 22

Hey Y’all!!!  Teresa here on this wonderful Friday.  How fun this little bunny is in his plane scooting along to tell someone how special they are.  ‘Takeoff’ includes this cute image and 5 fun sentiments.  Check out the entire June release.  Over 10 new digital stamps and cutables.  All the details for making this card yourself are below (including links).

Oh this fun little plan scooting through the sky.  Our cute little bunny is coming to see someone special.

The ‘Takeoff’ digital stamp set is from The Cat’s Pajamas June Release.  Such a fun June we are having.  All sunshine for our little pilot.

Click on one of the images above to go directly to the digital file.

The bunny and plane are colored with copic markers.  The digistamp is printed on Heavenly White copic paper.

COPIC MARKERS:

• Bunny (E55, E53, E51, E50, R02, R01, R00, YG25, Y28)

• Plane (B99, B97, B95, B93, B91, C4, C3, W10)

The bunny and plane are colored with Copic Markers and cut out with a scalloped die.

You might have to look close with the beautiful blue North Carolina skies behind him.  Bet his smile can be seen for miles.

I cut several pieces of white paper with rectangular scalloped dies.

Glued several pieces of printed paper on top of the white for a little added color.   They were just leftover pieces from another project that fit.  I seem to save everything.  Do you?

I always seem to finish cards off with little circular glue dots.  They are just my favorites.

The sentiment is from the same digital stamp set.  Printed it out on 80 lb paper and cut it out with another die.  Glued it to the top of a few of the dots in two of the corners.

I’ve got bunnies in my backyard.  Wonder if they can fly?

Road Trips and Mustaschio’d Men!

5 / 11 / 225 / 12 / 22
Hello! It’s Christine back today with more of the May Release from The Cat’s Pajamas, and today I’m bringing you a pair of masculine designs that are great for the Summer season from the May Release.
To start off today, I’m bringing an card that is a nod to the start of Summer for me!  Each year when our kids were school-age we’d take off for our Summer Road Trip the day after school was done, usually a 16 h drive to my husband’s home town and visit family there.  We’d leave before the crack of dawn and enjoy celebrated traditions each trip like banana bread for the breakfast to listening to Adventures in Odyssey to keep us all entertained.  Still treasured memories for our family.
So, this TCP set is so nostalgic for me!  I used the new Travelin’ Man digi set, printing it on Copic XPress It paper and colouring with Copics.  Check out all his luggage!

I’ve trimmed the image out, placed it on a retired TCP frame, and then added the “road” with the new SVG Cutting File Summer Borders, and then the sentiment from the new Summer Sayings Digi.  With a cute turn arrow from a retired TCP die set.
Now I Mustache you …..
To enjoy this new Hipster set!  It is SO darn cute!  Combining it with the new Aye, Eye, I set,  I’ve created a fun CAS signboard card for the moustachiod man in your life!  I cut out all the moustaches and popped some up on the main image to give it some fun dimension.  A tiny bit of Copic colouring to add some red pop, and paired it all with the new Black and White Spring digital papers.
Here’s another peek at a bit of the dimension.  It makes for an adorable clean and graphic card!
And here is a look at all the new May Release Items I used today…

Making Waves and Stencils

5 / 10 / 225 / 13 / 22

Hey there! It’s Jen waving hello to you with the hot new May release.  I’ve had so much fun with the Make Waves SVGs.  As soon as I saw the set, I couldn’t wait to cut out that cute seagull and have him bobbing on the waves.  And after I cut out the seagull and waves, I noticed I had a fabulous stencil left over:

Well, I was also excited to use the Fun in the Sun Digi and I went ahead and spread some Paper Glaze through my freshly cut stencil.  That fun wavy background was just right for this cool cat to float and enjoy her margarita.  I guess ocean scenes always get me thinking of portholes which put me in the mood for some round cards.  I decided to make this into a get well card with one of my favorite retired TCP sentiments.

For my gull card, instead of a porthole, I used the life preserver to frame the seagull.  I cut each piece with my Brother ScanNCut out of Neenah Solar White and sponged on all the colors with Distress Oxide, shading each piece a bit just by using the brush that I usually use for black or gray ink.  I popped up just the top of the bird and let the bottom rest more in the water.  And of course, I needed to add some glitter to the waves.

Frankly, I love to make seagull cards, because I can use one of my favorite birthday sentiments.  “29 again? How gull-ible do you think I am?”  I’ve made the inside sentiment using my very own handwritten font and I am sharing the file on my blog if you are interested.

Ready to Tie One On?

5 / 7 / 22
What’s Mew

I gave you a little sneaky peek of these cute shirt boxes earlier this week, but this time I thought I would give you more details about these cute little boxes.

ShirtBoxes
Learn How To Create Shirt Treat Boxes

But, if you want to watch a video on how to create these boxes using Cricut, Silhouette Studio and Scan N Cut Workspace just click here.

  1. First, I cut out all the pieces I needed, and that included the buttons. You could, of course, use real buttons, but I thought I would use the buttons included cutting a really thin strip of paper and threading it through the holes. I secured them on the back with foam tape.
  2. To make the collar stand out from the shirt, I sponged ink on the edges.
  3. Secondly, I folded along the dashed lines and secured the side tab to the back of the box on the opposite side.  Then, I closed the bottom.
  4.  I added the shirt front strip, (add goodies now)and folded over the collar and secure
  5. For the tie, fold over the middle section and insert the two sides, securing it between the middle section.
  6. Finally, attach the tie and buttons to the front. There is also a second style of tie and it’s created the same way.

It’s such a fast and easy treat box that can be sized down, as well. If you want to go bigger, I’ve included files for a bigger box, cause that’s how I roll 😉 These would be great table favors, too, if you have have more than one dad sitting down for dinner. They are so easy to make with Cutable files.

Shirt Treat Box Cutable SVGs

You get .svgs and .dxfs for both sizes and ties and shirt tabs in the Shirt Treat Boxes.  I think you can change things up and even round out the collars and add a string of pearls for a really cute Mother’s Day gift. I hope you give them a try.

Bringing the Summer Sun Poolside!

5 / 4 / 225 / 3 / 22
While we’re just getting excited about flowers popping up from the ground…dreaming of summery sunny days at the beach or by the pool, The Cat’s Pajamas is bringing it to us in all sorts of fun ways this May!
It’s Christine here today, and I’m excited to kick off today with two new designs from the May Release.  I have to say, this release was such fun for me to play with.  Fun themes, vibrant colours, colouring, cutting files, it’s really got it all, and it totally sparked my creativity.
My first design pulls you poolside with this adorable set called Fun in the Sun.  I had a great time creating the water reflections of a pool with a stencil and Distress Oxide Ink, and then adding our favourite Kitty in her floaty on the surface of the water.
I’ve framed her up, and added the sentiment and wave to accent the design, including a few turquoise sequins.
For fun I took the bubbles from the set that I had printed and used them to create my own beach ball accent,  all it took was a few lines from my micro-liner pen and a bubble is a beach ball!
Such a fun design to create with!  I’m ready for the pool!
The next card is oceanside with our favourite bunny!  This is Life’s A Beach.
He’s protecting his tender fur from those rays, soaking the shade and RnR under his beach umbrella.  I think he’s so cute with his coconut drink!  All of the colouring is done with Copics.
To customize my scene, I’ve added some stripes to the umbrella to make it really beachy, drew in some bunny board shorts for swimming, and added soft ocean waves in the background. I placed him on a background I created with one of our new cutting files called Make Waves.
Because I knew I wanted to make a multicoloured wave background, copied and pasted three of the cutting files for this set of waves onto the 12 x 12 section for my Silhouette.
Next I added 3 sets of beachy coloured cardstock for cutting.
Then trimmed it out (my blade was a little deep so you can see there’s a bit of fraying).  But then all you need to do is piece by piece add the waves to the background so the pattern matches.  I have extra waves left over to use for other projects if I want.
I think it makes a fun way to add texture and colour, with out taking away from the design.  The sentiment is from the new Summer Sayings set, and I added pointillism dots to mimic the sand to tie in.
Here’s a peek at the newly released May items I used today!  See you next week with two more fun designs!

Smile

5 / 2 / 225 / 2 / 22

Good morning TCP fans. Nancy here to share a project using some of the new May digital products  released yesterday.

This card features the new Camera Cutables. I cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine from various colorful patterned papers and cardstock. I adjusted the look a bit by creating a small shaker piece in the lens portion. I also added a few small flowers from the also new Under My Hat which is a combo of digital (.png) and cut files (.svg) set.

Products: The Cat’s Pajamas Cutables, Doodlebug dp, Bazzill and PTI cs, PFS Sequins

As if I didn’t use enough tropical colors, I added a patterned paper border onto the card base, then attached the camera piece along with the sentiment using foam dimensionals.

I hope these colors brighten your day. Don’t forget to smile! The world needs them.

Nuts About TCP!

4 / 30 / 224 / 29 / 22

Hello!  Jen here on this last day of April.  I know we’re all getting excited for the May release, but I am still nuts about this April release.  I can never resist some cute woodland creatures, so I just had to make a card with the Into the Woods Digi Stamps.  I love the skunk in this set, too, but I wanted to feature the squirrel and his acorns on this one.  And I wanted to feature a lot of acorns.  I love digital stamps because it was so easy to make a pile of acorns for this card–no masking!

I felt the background needed a pattern, but not too bold a pattern and the Black & White Spring Digi Papers had just the right one.  I love the black and white digi paper because my printer doesn’t love color.  Frankly, though, I still love color–that’s why I love being able to print this black and white paper on any color cardstock.  Oh, the possibilities!

I was originally going to use the cute “Nuts! I forgot!” sentiment from this digital stamp set, but decided to shake things up with a different sentiment.

I was so thrilled with the look of the digital paper printed on the aqua cardstock, that I had to add some to the inside of my card too.  The color complements the acorn so well.  I hope you like this silly card and I hope you have a great day!

Stinking of You

4 / 27 / 224 / 27 / 22

Nancy  here to share a clean and simple card featuring the new Into the Woods digital set. The main images were originally rather small in the physical stamp set but in digital form the images can be sized however you want them. Which is exactly what I did.

Using Silhouette Studio software, I added the skunk, flower and the trunk image to my page, using the eraser tool to erase the branches and leaves from the trunk. I resized and sent the images to the front or back as needed until my scene was how I wanted it. I added the two sentiments below the trunk and then printed onto Copic friendly cardstock. After cutting the piece out with a stitched edge die, I colored with Copic markers and added touches of white gel pen. Before attaching to the card base, I wrapped hemptique cord around the panel along the grass line and tied in a small bow. So easy and I didn’t have to do any masking which is always  plus for me.

Copics: Skunk-W00, W1, T1, T3, T5, T7; Flower-Y02, Y13, Y15, YG01, YG03; Log-E30, E31, E33, W1; Grass-YG61, YG3; Sky-BG0000, BG000

Isn’t this skunk so cute? I love all the images in this set.

Customizing Digital Paper and NEW TCP!

4 / 25 / 224 / 26 / 22

Hi Stampers!  It’s Christine back today with a few more new designs using The Cat’s Pajamas April Release.  As you might already know, Alma has moved into the digital realm with TCP and that means a lot of new and  different opportunities with stamps, accessories, cut file, paper and embellishments.  On this first design I did a little playing around with the new Black & White Spring Digi papers to coordinate it perfectly with this Birthday bear and the new set A Beary Good Year.

I  began by printing out the plaid paper in black and white and coordinating it to my card by sponging onto the cardstock.  It’s transformed from black and white to a ombre multi-colour design that matches perfectly with my Copic coloured bear.

This cutie is fun to work with too!  The set has all sorts of add-ons for all occasions that when used as a digi are really easy to make work.  So I gave him a party hat, added the cake plate in his hand and then heart birthday balloons and printed him out.  It’s nice to be able to manipulate images like this before printing.

Some fun framing and accents with die-cuts, and he’s ready to party!

Next I have a mini-slimline scene that’s perfect for those breezy Spring days.

This fanciful bunny is from the new set Field of Pinwheels.  After printing the image, I added in some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink clouds using a TCP Stencil for the sky and foreground grass, and then paired him with more of the Black & White Digi papers.  The bunting accents are created with the Summer Borders SVG’s and I’ve added some baker’s twine and enamel dots.

To fill in the grass I’ve used some flick strokes with my Copics to colour in more blades.  The sentiment is  stamped with a retired TCP polymer set, as I thought it was a perfect pairing.
Take a peek below and the New Release Items I’ve used today!  Be sure to pop over to the TCP Store to pick yours up!   Thanks for joining me today!
